Brewing Conversations
Periods are natural and essential, so why is there so much stigma around these conversations? Period blood is the only blood that exists without violence, yet it is the blood that disgusts people the most. As a part of the Flowing for Change Campaign I hosted "Brewing Conversations", A discussion for period advocacy. This panel aims to foster understanding, support, and awareness by creating a safe space for questions, shared expereiences and knowledge. Thee panelists included Chelsea Opperman, Josia Prince, Parvinder Kaur, and Katie Simmons, and was hosted by Brayden Chartrand! I am so grateful to be able to host these events and give so mnay of my frineds a space to share their voices, and so honoured to have friends who support me so wholeheardtly and do eveyrhing they can to help make these events and this camapign a success. The conversation was so wonderful, and felt so empowering and emotional to be having this discussion openly, in public, in the faculty lounge of our univeristy, and I know we all shared alot of the same feelings. I owe a huge thank you to Keith from TSC at Lakehead for making it possible for me to record this panel over zoom, which in turn allows me to share it here with you! Please feel free to head over to the blog "Period." and share your stories and feelings while watching this discussion, and consider making a donation to support this campaign and help bring this educational content and menstural products to people less fortunate <3
